Frequently Asked Questions

ABOUT WORKING FOR CSW

How is CSW different from other agencies?

CSW is extremely focused on customer service, and that includes our employees! Our Account Executives really listen and honestly care about your needs. We are large enough to have extensive resources and benefits to provide you with tools to succeed, yet small enough to be personal and give you individual attention to fulfill your goals. We also have a more diverse variety than others for settings in which you can work!

What types of work/facilities do you cover?

Long-Term Care/Skilled Nursing Facilities, Occupational Health Sites and Clinics, Hospitals, Correctional Facilities, Juvenile Detention Centers, Doctor's Offices, Group Homes, Private Duty, and more throughout the State. Check out our Positions and Placements. There are also opportunities with our sister homecare division at New England Home Care.

Do you staff outside of CT?

No, but our parent company has staffing agencies currently in New York and New Jersey.

Do I have to have a CT nurse's license/certificate for nursing and CNA/MA work?

Yes, to work in CT you must have CT nurse's license or CNA/MA certificate, but you can get reciprocity from most other states. You can contact the CT Department of Public Health for more information.

How will I get scheduled?

Account Executives will match your given availability and wishes with our client's needs. You will be offered a variety of work and shifts to choose from.

Will I get cancelled once I am scheduled?

Occasionally facilities do cancel a confirmed shift. We make every effort to find an alternate shift for you and will contact you about any changes.

Is there a minimum number of shifts I must work?

For per diem work, no. We will work out a schedule based on your availability and flexibility. Keep in mind, once you accept a shift you are obligated to fulfill your commitment. For contract and other positions you will be scheduled by pre-arranged terms.

ABOUT PAY AND BENEFITS

What are your pay rates?

Rates are competitive within the industry and the role you fulfill. It will depend on the job for which you are hired and on your years of experience.

How do I get paid?

Weekly paycheck. Direct deposit is available. Our work week is Saturday first shift to Friday third shift. Pay day is every Friday, but you must submit your timesheets accurately and on-time to get paid.

Tell me about your insurance benefits.

Medical and/or Dental insurance is offered with pre-tax payroll deduction. To be eligible, you must maintain at least 30 hours per week (after a 90-day eligibility period). Long or Short term disability is also available through pre-tax payroll deduction.

Tell me about your PTO/Holiday policies.

Paid Time Off is offered in lieu of insurance. Employees may earn 40hr per 800 hours worked in a calendar year (so it's possible to hit that twice a year!). Over a dozen Holidays are paid at premium rates-- most at time-and-one-half, and some at double-time!

What other benefits are offered?

401k with a matching contribution from the employer, 529 College Savings Program, direct deposit, Credit Union membership, referral bonuses, discounted tickets to special entertainment events and venues, monthly raffle prizes, and more!
